This page explains how to delete personal data connected to Inbox Naija. It works together with our Privacy Policy. We respect your right to control your information under applicable laws, including Nigeria's Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and, where relevant, the EU/UK GDPR.

Who this page is for

  • Inbox Naija account holders who signed up with email, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
  • People who signed in with Facebook or other social providers and want data removed from our platform.
  • Recipients of marketing emails sent by our customers through Inbox Naija (see below).

Fastest way: delete from your account

If you have a Inbox Naija login, sign in and open Account → Privacy & data (https://inboxnaija.com/user/account/privacy). From there you can:

  • Request account deletion to remove your profile and close your workspace.
  • Request a data export before deletion if you want a copy of your information.

No account yet? Sign in with the same email or social provider you used before. If you cannot access your account, use the email option in the next section.

Facebook and social sign-in users

If you used Sign in with Facebook (or another social provider), you can still delete your Inbox Naija data without keeping the social connection:

  1. Sign in at https://inboxnaija.com/user/login with the same provider or linked email.
  2. Go to Account → Privacy & data and submit an account deletion request.
  3. We verify your identity, then process the request within the timeline below.

Removing data from Inbox Naija does not delete your Facebook account. To manage Facebook itself, use Facebook's own settings. Disconnecting Inbox Naija in Facebook's Apps and Websites area stops future sign-in but does not automatically erase data we already stored; submit deletion through our portal or email.

Request by email (no login)

Email support@inboxnaija.com with the subject line Data deletion request. Include:

  • Your full name and the email address on your Inbox Naija account.
  • Whether you signed up with email, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
  • What you want deleted (full account deletion is the default).
  • Proof of control over the email address (we may reply to confirm).

You received a marketing email from a Inbox Naija customer

Inbox Naija provides email tools to businesses. When you receive a newsletter or promotion, that business is usually the data controller for your address. They chose what to send and why.

  • Use the unsubscribe link in the email first. That updates the sender's list immediately.
  • Contact the sender directly if you want full erasure from their records.
  • Email support@inboxnaija.com with the message headers or a screenshot if unsubscribe fails or the sender will not respond. We can help suppress your address on that customer's list when appropriate.

What we delete

When account deletion is approved, we aim to remove or anonymize:

  • Your profile (name, email, phone, login identifiers including social provider IDs).
  • Account settings, preferences, and security logs tied to your user ID where retention is not required.
  • Content you uploaded solely for your own use (contacts, templates, campaigns) subject to backup cycles below.
  • API keys, webhooks, and integrations linked to your account.

What we may keep

Some data may be retained when the law or legitimate business needs require it, for example:

  • Billing, tax, and invoice records for the period required by law in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  • Fraud-prevention, security, and abuse records to protect our platform and other users.
  • Aggregated or anonymized statistics that no longer identify you.
  • Copies in encrypted backups until those backups expire on their normal schedule (typically up to 90 days).

How long deletion takes

  • Self-service requests from Account → Privacy & data: usually processed within 30 days.
  • Email requests: we acknowledge within a few business days and complete within 30 days unless law allows or requires a longer period.
  • Complex cases (billing disputes, legal holds, or multi-workspace accounts) may take longer; we will tell you.

After your account is deleted

You will not be able to sign in or recover deleted content. Sending, automations, and billing stop according to your plan. If you create a new account later with the same email, it is treated as a new registration.

Children

Inbox Naija is not for users under 18. If you believe a child gave us data, email support@inboxnaija.com and we will delete it promptly.

Complaints and regulators

If you are unhappy with our response, reply to our confirmation email or contact support@inboxnaija.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your country (for example, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where applicable).
